Ruth Getman 82, formerly of 1 Michigan Ave. Ilion, passed away Sunday October 7, 2012 at the Mohawk Valley Health Care, Ilion.
Ruth was born August 9, 1930 in Utica NY the daughter of the late Lawrence and Mary Culver Shepard, and received her education in the Ilion Schools. She was married to Madison G. Getman , he passed away January 21, 1997.
Ruth was employed with several grocery chains thru out the valley towns in the deli department including Loblaw's, Great American in Ilion, and Great American in Herkimer and Melrose in Frankfort before retiring several years ago.
Ruth is survived by her children James, Madison, Robert, Kathleen and Cynthia, also several grand children and great grand children.
Funeral services for Ruth were held on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 and in keeping with her wishes were private. Interment was held in the Armory Hill Cemetery.
Arrangements were with the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home Inc. 100 Otsego Street Ilion.
