Obituary of Stephen Warren Crocker
Stephen Warren Crocker passed away on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at the age of 74, at the Oneida Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing (Focus Nursing Home), Utica, NY.
Born in Lynn, MA, Steve came to Ilion, NY in 1956. He was involved in scouting, achieving Eagle Scout and graduated from Ilion High School. A devote Catholic, he attended Ilion Annunciation Church, participating in masses and active in the life of the church. Steve was gifted with languages, able to speak in seven and pursuing an eighth. He had a life-long love of learning, taking courses at Mohawk Valley Community College and Utica Tech. Steve and his wife Linda were deeply in love, in that way that anyone who saw it was affected. He was a kind soul and a good man and he will be greatly missed from our lives.
Steve leaves behind his wife Linda, brothers and sisters David & Lauri Crocker of Fairport, NY; Richard Crocker of Daytona Beach, FL; Judith Crocker-Raland of Belleville, MI; Sue Pilipczuk of Castleton, NY; Linda Crocker of North Oxford, MA; brothers-in-law Philip Douglas, from Mohawk, NY, and Steven and Dina Guido from Long Island; as well as 13 nieces and nephews and 12 great-nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife May and his parents, Warren and Dorothy Crocker.
There will be calling hours for Steve on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 9:00 am at the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home in Ilion, NY, followed at 10:30 am with a Mass of Christian Burial at Ilion's Annunciation Church. Burial will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ilion Annunciation Church - that gave so much support and kindness to Steve throughout his life - are suggested by the family.
The Whiter Funeral Company was started in 1893 by H.A. Whiter and was originally located in Forestport, NY. Following a fire in Forestport our family relocated in Ilion, and reopened the funeral home, in the early 1900's.
