I worked indirectly with Dick Long at Munters. I work in Texas, but I interacted with Dick many times. I am saddened by this news. I actually grew up in Port Charlotte, FL, and I went to school in Tampa at USF. My dad was also named Richard, but went by Dick. He passed away at 62. So, this story hits close to home for me. I am sorry for your loss. The Long family is in my prayers during this difficult time. May God bless you all and give you comfort in your time of mourning.

I will never forget those days when our sons were running cross country in high school. I’m not sure who was more excited when they won a meet...the boys, or Dick and I. Somewhere there is a video that would prove it. What great memories! He was such an upbeat person and had that positive attitude. So glad we were able to get together on several occasions when we were vacationing in Florida. We will miss him greatly. God Bless.

This is sad news: I truly respected Dick Long. We had a number of ‘wrestle-offs’ all through high school and he was always a very, very serious challenge for me! He was a constant reminder of high school competition and what true sportsmanship was all about. I learned a great deal from Dick and considered him a good friend. He’s still teaching me, lookout retirement here I come. Thanks again Dick IOU.
