Ilion
Evelyn L. Wilson, 90 of Ilion, passed away on Tuesday January 26, 2021 at the St. Luke's Home in Utica.
Evelyn was born on September 26, 1930 in Utica, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Helen (Brzezicki) Godlewski. She was a Proctor graduate and worked as an OR/maternity technician at St. Luke's Hospital. On August 27, 1951 she married William A. Wilson at St. Stanislaus in Utica, Bill passed away in 1985.
Evelyn is survived by two sons; William Jr. of Kentucky and Thomas and his wife Denise of Minnesota; a daughter Connie and her husband Frank Gollegly of Ilion; her grandchildren Chrystal (Rick) Renodin, Samuel Krainik, Jennifer and Andrea Wilson, Eric, Holly, Adam, Nicole and Amber Wilson, Matt and Ryan Wilson and Jamie (David) Heffernan as well as 9 great grandchildren. She is predeceased by a son James and 2 brothers Raymond and Vincent.
Evelyn's family wish to thank the special staff on Barton East, for the wonderful care given during her stay.
In keeping with Evelyn's wishes a graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family in St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Whitesboro.

The Whiter Funeral Company was started in 1893 by H.A. Whiter and was originally located in Forestport, NY. Following a fire in Forestport, the family relocated in Ilion, and reopened the funeral home in the early 1900's.
