I was just made aware recently of the passing of Ed . He was always a pleasure to be in the company of, while working at Remington .
I also enjoyed singing with him in the choir while attending Morning Star UMC a few years back . He was a true gentleman .
Deepest condolences to his family and many friends.

I was sad to hear of the passing of my old friend Ed Owens. When I turned 17 I finally decided to strap in and learn to play the guitar. Ed was one of the first people to show me the ropes and encourage me to keep at it. I'll never forget doing one of my first performances with him at the Jordanville Federated Church on June 1993 right before my graduation when the church would always honor the grads each year. He transposed the chords to the Gatlin Bros song 'The Prodigal Son'. We split up the vocals and he made me feel very comfortable despite the fact that I was scared to death and a very self conscious small town misfit. Looking back, I owe the fact that I am now a well respected, professional musician who leads his own band that performs original music to Ed and the kindness he showed an awkward/shy high-school geek way back then. Ed's small token of kindness wound up being a huge blessing in my life being music has introduced me to most of my closest friends.
Giving of himself is how I will always remember Ed. To sum it up, Ed was a kind, generous and gentle soul. The world was a better place with him in it. At this time I want to give my condolences to his family.
