Obituary of Jennifer Lynn Wildey

ILION –Jennifer Lynn Wildey, age 49, passed away after a brief illness on Thursday, March 30, 2023 in MVHS St. Luke’s with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Ilion, on June 18, 1973, the daughter of James and Priscilla (Reed) Wildey. Jennifer graduated from Ilion Central Schools with the class of 1991. She went on to work in the Claims Department of MetLife in Oriskany.
Jenn loved traveling to beaches in Florida whenever she could. Most of all she loved her family and spending time with them.
She is survived her beloved canine companion, Bernice, her mother and father; her sister Jodi (Jason) Gay; one brother, Joshua (Jessica) Wildey; nephews, Nathan (Amanda) Tabor and Jakob Wildey; niece, Megan (Cody) Church; aunts, Diane, Debbie, Mary, Cathy, Lisa and special aunt Pearl; great nieces, Adalyn Tabor and Emilia Church; great nephews, Leon Church and Levi Tabor, numerous cousins and numerous friends to many to mention.
She was predeceased by her grandparents, Betty and Glenn Reed and Katherine Wildey Blake.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2023 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home, 100 Otsego St. in Ilion. A service will be held at the conclusion of visitation.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Jennifer’s memory to the Herkimer County Humane Society, 514 NY-5s Mohawk, NY 13407.

The Whiter Funeral Company was started in 1893 by H.A. Whiter and was originally located in Forestport, NY. Following a fire in Forestport, the family relocated in Ilion, and reopened the funeral home in the early 1900's.
